eLLM in ICT 2015 Intake
Master of Laws in Information and Communications Technology Law by eLearning (eLLM in ICT Law)
AFRALTI in collaboration with United Kingdom Telecommunications Academy (UKTA) and The Open University of Tanzania (OUT) is offering Master of Laws in Information and Communications Technology Law by eLearning (eLLM in ICT Law) with option of attending at least four seminars.
Aims
This course is designed to give detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles, nature and development of legal aspects of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), in addition to developing a range of generic transferable research and presentation skills which can be used in a wide range of settings.
Description
Today ICT underpins most aspects of our lives. We communicate using our mobile phones and tablets, many aspects of our commercial and government infrastructures are dependent on information technology systems whilst as we have seen recently, our Internet usage may be tracked by national security agencies with serious threats posed to individuals privacy. All of these issues and more will be considered in the course.
Course Delivery
Delegates undertaking this qualification have a unique opportunity to study the legal implications surrounding ICT on the world’s longest established masters (LLM) course. The degree is awarded by the Open University of Tanzania and is led by UK based Professors who have supported similar programmes since 1994 and have written some of the major text books in the field.
Who would benefit?
Lawyers wishing to specialise in the expanding fields of ICT law, in house lawyers working for companies active in the field such as mobile phone network providers, those responsible for the management of ICT systems in public and private sector organisations and those involved in regulation of the sector.
Entry Requirements
Normally an Honours Degree in law or any other degree with substantial legal content. Other qualifications are recognized, especially where the applicants work experience is relevant to the course.

Provider, Location and Duration
This course is taught and assessed by UK based Professors on line, on behalf of the Open University of Tanzania. Optional seminars will be organized by AFRALTI in Nairobi, Kenya.
Tuition fee
Tuition fee is GBP3,000 (equivalent to USD5,010), participants can also pay in installments per the Payment Schedule.
