AFRICA TELECOMMUNICATION UNION PARTNERS WITH AFRALTI IN BUILIDING AFRICA’S SPACE FUTURE
AFRALTI, in partnership with the African Telecommunications Union (ATU), successfully conducted a hybrid training program on the Key Steps in the Planning Process of a Satellite Network. This initiative, sponsored by ATU, brought together a diverse group of participants and demonstrated the power of collaboration in advancing Africa’s role in space governance and satellite communications.
The training program, held at AFRALTI, hosted 52 in-person participants and welcomed over 100 online attendees via the ITU Academy portal. Participants hailed from ATU member states across the continent, representing both English- and French-speaking countries. The audience included telecommunications regulators, government ministries, and space governance agencies—key players in Africa’s satellite and telecommunications ecosystem.
The hybrid format enabled broad participation, ensuring that professionals from across Africa could engage in the training regardless of their location. This inclusivity reflects the shared commitment of AFRALTI and ATU to foster knowledge sharing and capacity building at scale.
As the demand for satellite communication continues to grow, programs like these are essential for equipping Africa’s professionals with the skills needed to navigate this complex and evolving landscape. The collaboration between AFRALTI and ATU ensures that Africa remains at the forefront of satellite innovation while promoting inclusivity and equitable access to space-based resources.
AFRALTI remains committed to delivering impactful training programs that address the continent’s most pressing challenges. Together with partners like ATU, we aim to empower the next generation of leaders in telecommunications and space governance.
