AFRALTI AND ITU PARTNER TO DELIVER DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR TRAINING PROGRAM

In September 2024, AFRALTI conducted a successful Digital Transformation in the Public Sector training program, delivered in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This comprehensive course was designed to empower public sector professionals with the expertise needed to drive the adoption of digital technologies in governance and public service delivery.

Participants from across the globe—including Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, India, Iran, Mexico, Somalia, Malawi, Madagascar, Senegal, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Gambia, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo—came together at AFRALTI to explore innovative strategies and exchange insights on how to lead digital transformation within their respective governments and organizations.

Digital transformation in the public sector focuses on modernizing operations by integrating digital tools such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, and digital platforms. These technologies enable governments to streamline processes, improve transparency, and engage more effectively with citizens. Through this course, participants examined real-world case studies and engaged in hands-on exercises designed to enhance service delivery, automate workflows, and strengthen governance structures.

This initiative is part of the broader “Capacity Development for Digital Transformation” project – a collaborative effort between the ITU, the European Union, and UNDP. The program aims to train over 5,000 professionals worldwide by providing both online and in-person training, with a special focus on participants from developing countries and women in leadership roles.

By participating in this transformative project, AFRALTI has once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing digital skills, fostering innovation, and helping bridge the digital divide across Africa and beyond.
