The African Advanced Level Telecommunications became a Cisco Regional Academy in October 2002. Owing to its professionalism and technical competence, AFRALTI was appointed the Eastern Africa Cisco Academy Training Centre (CATC) and assumed the duties thereof on 1 August 2008. As a CATC, AFRALTI is responsible for coordination , growth and maintenance of quality of the Cisco Academy Initiative in Eastern Africa. The CATC at AFRALTI serves Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Seychelles, and Reunion & Djibouti. Besides regional responsibilities, AFRALTI also conducts training for ordinary students.
Students at the academy spend some considerable amount of time in our well equiped Lab on hands on activities like building and testing networks so as to gain enough insight, skill and experience in network design, configuration and troubleshooting. Internet access is available and students are strongly encouraged to use use it for further research.
